Casterlin School is located in the eastern portion of the Southern Humboldt Unified School District. Our school community is in a mountainous, rural, isolated area one hour east of the district office in Miranda. Casterlin students come from the area surrounding two communities, Blocksburg and Alderpoint.

Enrollment this year is about 39 students. Our principal is on site at least weekly, and as needed. Our district school psychologist is on site monthly. The certificated staff includes three full-time teachers. In addition, there is a resource specialist teacher one day per week, and a twice monthly speech and language pathologist.
The classified staff includes two part-time instructional assistants, two full time resource/speech and language aides, a part time secretary, one bus driver, a cook, an after school paraprofessional, and a custodian.
